Hi Greg, I've tried all sorts of things, I worked in IT for nearly 30 years, but left 12 years ago so my experience doesn't cover Windows Most of my experience was Solaris, other Unix and Prime mini computers, although I did cover a lot of PC and network stuff too. I've managed to get to desktop login, it accepts username and password and has actually brought up the desktop then get an pop up box saying sihost.
Power off and on again and get a screen saying choose your keyboard layout. It then gives options for system restore and others, when you click on system restore it says there are no restore points available. The only way I can get further than this screen is to click on Use another operating system and the third option this gives.
It's all going round in circles. It's my husbands laptop not mine, I don't want to do anything on mine to put it at risk as I need it for my business.
